Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Freelance artists from Saxony-Anhalt can now apply for funding for their projects again.

A total of 4.5 million euros are available, as the Ministry of Culture in Magdeburg announced on Wednesday.

Accordingly, the “Culture on the Net” scholarship program is aimed at those working in culture who were unable to pursue their artistic activities due to the corona pandemic.

"The Corona crisis is not over yet, but we have great hope that the horizon on the cultural sky will brighten up significantly in the summer," said Minister of Culture Rainer Robra (CDU) according to the announcement.

Full-time cultural workers with their main residence in Saxony-Anhalt are funded in the fields of music, visual arts, media art, performing arts, literature and intermedia art forms.

You can apply for grants of 1500 euros per month for a period of up to three months at the Saxony-Anhalt Investment Bank.

The deadline ends on June 5, 2021. It is already the second funding round.

According to the state so far, around 500 applications were received in the first round of the scholarship program in 2020.
