Berlin (AP) - Bundesliga soccer team Hertha BSC is looking for a successor solution for goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry, who was released on Tuesday, for the remaining seven games of the season.

According to a media report, the long-time goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly is also in discussion.

"Our sports director Arne Friedrich is working on finding a successor as soon as possible," said Hertha on Wednesday when asked.

The «Bild» had previously reported that Kiraly could be one of the candidates.

Hertha made no statements on this aspect.

The 45-year-old Hungarian played for Berlin from 1997 to 2004 and was part of a team with current Hertha coach Pal Dardai of the same age and assistant coach Andreas Neuendorf and for two seasons also with Arne Friedrich.

Always playing in gray sweatpants, Kiraly is Hungary's record player with 107 appearances and runs a sports center with a goalkeeping school in his hometown of Szombathely.

Hertha broke up with Petry on Tuesday after the 54-year-old was quoted in the Hungarian daily "Magyar Nemzet" with homophobic and anti-migration statements.

The goalkeeper training was then taken over by the 69-year-old Nello di Martino, who has been employed by the club since 1971.
