New York (dpa) - Even six months after the complete corona vaccination with the mRNA vaccine from Moderna, the protection remains high, according to a new study.
A long-term test with 33 subjects six months after the second vaccination showed a continued high level of antibodies against Covid-19 in all age groups, US experts report in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
The study will be continued in order to be able to observe the effectiveness of the vaccine over a longer period of time.
So far it is unclear how long the protection provided by the Covid-19 vaccines will last.
At the beginning of the month, the mRNA vaccine manufacturer Pfizer / Biontech announced that the protection provided by their joint preparation was just as high six months after the second dose as shortly afterwards.
In addition, there were no safety concerns.
