Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's companies should be able to offer their employees quick corona tests and self-tests and also issue certificates of the result.

Such proof of a negative result, which is valid for twelve hours, could then entitle employees to use certain services, the health authority announced on Wednesday.

So far, a negative test result has been required in Hamburg, for example for a visit to the hairdresser.

The prerequisite is that there are test officers in the companies who have been trained in performing rapid tests and reported to the health authorities.

In addition, the company must make a commitment to the authority, it said.

According to the Corona Containment Ordinance, employers should "make their employees who are present at their workplace an offer twice a week for free testing for an infection with the coronavirus using a rapid test".

So far, however, this has been done on a voluntary basis.
