Berlin (dpa / bb) - A motorist who is said to have raced through Berlin-Marienfelde and caused a serious accident with a motor scooter has to answer before the Berlin district court from today (1 p.m.).

The charges are attempted murder, dangerous bodily harm, prohibited motor vehicle races, endangering road traffic and escape from accidents.

The 44-year-old is said to have got into his car drunk in May 2020 and sped at up to 150 kilometers per hour in complete disregard of the essential traffic rules.

He finally knocked over a scooter at a red light.

Its driver was thrown meters through the air and seriously injured.
