Berlin (dpa / bb) - The basketball players from Alba Berlin want to end the Euroleague season with a sense of achievement.

“It's the last game of a very intense Euroleague season.

And we definitely want to end this season with a win, ”announced playmaker Peyton Siva before the home game against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday (8pm / Magentasport).

In terms of sport, however, this game is no longer about anything.

Both teams have no chance of a playoff place.

Alba is tenth in the table, Red Star is one place behind.

And yet the German champions are not expected to be spared.

«We all really enjoy playing Euroleague.

They will go straight to the point against Belgrade.

We want to show where we stand and we want to measure ourselves, ”said manager Marco Baldi.

The first leg in mid-December had Alba won 90:84 after extra time.

Coach Aito Garcia Reneses therefore expects "a very close game" again.

Alba has particular respect for the physicality of the Serbs.

"They are a very tough team that play very determined and physically," warned Siva.

That's why it's all about "countering it with your own style of play," said the 30-year-old.

There's a reunion with Landry Nnoko.

The center was a key factor in winning the championship and trophy last season.

He then moved to Belgrade, but initially failed the medical check in October.

For the second half of the season he got his chance.

Most recently, the Cameroonian made an average of seven points in the Euroleague games.
