In the last five years, an average of 847 workplace accidents have been reported in the county.

The incident that occurred on April 4, 2018 led to two operations for Elin Lantz in Ekshärad.

She suffered three fractures to her right ankle and now has three screws in her joint.

But she is not yet recovered, she has constant pain in her foot, lameness and she can neither run, squat or, for example, ski.

She often has to take sick leave from work and another operation awaits.

- It is not certain it will help but right now I am ready to do anything to avoid the pain I have left, says Elin Lantz.

Hear Elin Lantz talk about what happened and about the problems she has today in the clip above.

Convicted of work environment crime

The accident was reported to the police and the company was convicted in February this year at the National Unit for Environmental and Work Environment Objectives for work environment crimes.

The verdict points to a number of shortcomings in the work environment, including a pit in the floors below the ramp where the car overturned over Elin.

August Larsson Charkuteri AB was fined SEK 200,000.

- We have made sure to strengthen the routines around the handling of smoke trucks that this case was about, says Daniel Brokvist, factory manager.

The company has since the accident changed owners and management and according to the company's current CEO Maria Pettersson, it now has a completely different focus on the work environment:

- We are getting better and better.

The work has been neglected but it was not intentional.

It depended on what the organization and structure looked like.

Five percent disability

Elin Lantz still works at August Larsson Charkuteri AB and according to the employer's insurance company AFA, she is estimated to have five percent disability due to the accident, something Elin appealed.

- It is far too low considering how inhibited I am today.

Then you have to think further ahead, in 20 years, what will I be able to do, I worry about that, says Elin Lanzt.
