In March last year, the police received an alarm about a suspected shooting at Birger Jarlsgatan.

An injured person was at a garage at the scene.

The man, who was in his 30s, died of gunshot wounds.

Another man was shot at the time.

District Attorney Marina Chirakova has previously told SVT that the murder is the result of a conflict in a criminal environment.

- The explosion of Café Sirap a couple of weeks before the murder and several other events are the motive for the murder, Marina Chirakova said when charges were brought.

Convicted of his refusal - they were appealed

In December, a man was convicted, for his denial, of the murder and the penalty was life imprisonment.

He was also convicted of attempted murder, drug offenses, drunk driving, violations of the law prohibiting knives and other dangerous objects, doping offenses and aggravated weapons offenses.

The life sentence was appealed.

The man wanted to be acquitted of the acts connected to the garage on Östermalm and released from liability for damages.

The relatives appealed and wanted the amount of damages they had requested in the district court.

Shares the assessment of the seriousness of the crime

On Wednesday, the verdict was announced from the Svea Court of Appeal.

The Court of Appeal considers that there is no reasonable doubt that the accused man is the one who has committed the murder and the attempted murder.

They also share the assessment that the crimes are so serious that the punishment should be determined to life imprisonment.

The Court of Appeal only changes the judgment in such a way that the relatives receive the damages they have requested.
