Research shows that four out of five Koreans view China as a security threat.

According to a poll released by the Chicago Council on International Affairs Council, an American think tank on the 6th local time, 83% of Koreans said China was a security threat, and only 12% said China was a security partner.

While 60% of respondents viewed China as an economic threat, only 37% said they viewed China as an economic partner.

However, compared to other issues, the response rate of China as a serious threat was relatively low.

53% of respondents cited China's military power as a major threat facing South Korea, and 51% chose China's economic power as a major threat.

It was investigated that the low birth rate, climate change, and North Korea's nuclear development are felt to be a serious threat to South Koreans rather than the Chinese problem.

This survey was conducted by Korea Research, a polling company, with 1,000 adults aged 19 and over in Korea on the 24-28th of last month.
