Within the framework of the increasing Egyptian interest in ancient history, which reached its peak after the procession of transporting the Pharaonic royal mummies, the Ministry of Education decided to teach some symbols of hieroglyphic writing in the elementary stage, as part of the plan to increase the archaeological and tourist awareness that the ministry is interested in.

According to Egyptian press reports, the plan, which will be implemented in the next academic year from the fourth grade of primary school, aims practically to inform students about their ancient history to gain knowledge, raise awareness and arouse students' interest in hieroglyphic writing, which was one of the most important means of communication with the ancient Egyptian civilization, not just memorization and indoctrination. .

On Saturday evening, in a majestic historical scene, the capital, Cairo, witnessed the launch of a procession of royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, in the center of the capital, to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, south of Cairo, where the mummies of a number of the most famous kings of Pharaonic Egypt will settle.

Soon, the decision had mixed repercussions on social media, with some welcomed it and others criticized it.

Thanks to the Egyptian government for taking a decision in the right direction, which is to start teaching the symbols of hieroglyphic writing in the fourth-grade curriculum, and I expect more in other areas, the most important of which are history, literature and moral values from the other. Great thing to teach hieroglyphs to our children (the language of the great ancestors) the language of civilization ♥ 🇪🇬🇪🇬 pic.twitter.com/6QD6Bco18x

According

to my modest information, there is

nothing

called the hieroglyphic language, the hieroglyphic

script, not

nearly a

language

that they refer to. The ancient Egyptian language with its three lines is hieroglyphic, demotic, and hieratic,

but it is the heart that is like love.

By the way, there is no need for it to be called hieroglyphs .. It is correct called "hieroglyphic writing" because it is a style of writing and documentation on papyri and stone, not a language, like Arabic and English.

The amount of stupidity and superficiality in talking about the subject of studying hieroglyphics in schools is more than my

burden

to ignore my

beloved. If you study for the sake of learning a vocational education or a trade, you will work and not defective and not with it, but if this is your mind, you need to learn to read and write and I just work with any simple job

Instead of not teaching us the hieroglyphic language, they

taught us the Ethiopian language

so that when we meet an Ethiopian we know the saying that I am hungry, I am thirsty,

oh uncle,

Nawal Shalabi, Director of the Curriculum Development Center at the Ministry of Education, explained that the beginning of the experiment will be from the fourth grade of primary school, where some of the hieroglyphic symbols will be taught, adding to the local media that the future curriculum development plan includes a clear development in the development of students ’awareness of archaeological and tourism aspects.

She added, "We began to present the monuments of antiquities, our pharaonic history and the history of Egypt throughout all ages, and how (how) we respect the antiquities and their ancestors' knowledge of how our history reached us and know our antiquities, and knowing the hieroglyphic writing is a kind of keeping up with civilization to understand, understand and appreciate civilization, and this will be according to the school curricula."

Egypt is living in a state of fondness for the ancient Egyptian civilization following the global ceremony that was held to mark the transfer of 22 mummies (18 kings and 4 queens) on their last trip to the Museum of Civilization, after spending a hundred years in the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square in central Cairo.

The procession proceeded through carriages decorated with Pharaonic drawings and inscriptions and equipped with a special atmosphere containing nitrogen so that the mummies were in suitable conditions for transportation, and each carriage bore the name of the king who was inside, amid tight security.

The motorcade offered motorcycles to the Republican Guard, and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi greeted them at the Civilization Museum.
