Beelitz (dpa / bb) - In two accidents on the A9, three truck drivers were injured, some seriously.

First, on Tuesday morning, a truck crashed into the central barrier and overturned, probably as a result of a burst tire, the police said.

The loaded sand was distributed both on the lane in the direction of Leipzig and partly on the opposite lane.

The 43-year-old driver was taken to hospital with injuries.

A backwater then formed at the scene of the accident, at the end of which one truck hit another at the Beelitz junction (Potsdam-Mittelmark district).

Their drivers, aged 50 and 65, were seriously injured and also taken to a hospital.

Because of the rescue and recovery measures, the A9 had to be partially blocked in both directions.
