According to the verdict from Västmanland District Court, the teacher told a student to "shut up" and then made a threat, when the student imitated and teased a classmate during a lesson.
Afterwards, the student must have felt bad and did not want to stay at school.
The substitute teacher denies having said what he was accused of and has explained the situation as saying that he told the student to be quiet and listen and then mumbled something to himself.
However, the district court believes that it has been proven, among other things through testimony, that the substitute teacher has committed an illegal threat and also exposed the student to a serious violation. He must therefore, in addition to the 70 daily fine, pay a violation compensation of SEK 5,000 to the student.
