Berlin (dpa / bb) - After the violent death of a 50-year-old on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin-Charlottenburg, investigators are still looking for evidence from witnesses.

On Tuesday, the emergency services interviewed residents on Ku'damm and in side streets, as a police spokeswoman said.

People would be searched who last saw the woman or had contact with her.

In addition, seven witnesses have reported to the police after a call.

The owner of a cosmetic studio on Walter-Benjamin-Platz is said to have walked home after 6 p.m. last Wednesday - a distance of around two minutes.

She was therefore dressed completely in black, wore dark blue shoes and a dark blue handbag.

The woman was discovered dead in her apartment at Kurfürstendamm 61 the next day.

Concerned colleagues had alerted the fire department after the 50-year-old had not come to work.

It is not yet known when she arrived home and whether she was anywhere else before.

The autopsy revealed fatal injuries to the head and upper body.

The exact cause of death could not be named for tactical reasons, said the police spokeswoman.
