Mountain View (dpa) - SAP has won Google as a new major customer for its accounting software.
For the German group, it is also a prestige success in competition with arch rival Oracle, from which the Internet giant is switching to the Germans.
A Google spokesman confirmed the plan to the US broadcaster CNBC.
According to an internal email, the change is scheduled for May.
The changeover required months of intensive preparatory work, it said, citing an informed person.
Google and Oracle are competitors in the cloud business - and this competition has often been fierce.
For years, Oracle refused to certify its database software for Google's cloud services.
As a result, Oracle customers could not be sure whether they could use Google's cloud for this without violating the license terms.

The Google spokesman emphasized at CNBC that the Internet company was offering a technical solution for this.
"But that is completely independent of our decision, as a corporate customer, to switch our financial systems from Oracle to SAP."
For more than a decade, the companies also argued in court over a good 11,000 lines of software code from interfaces in the Java programming language, which Google had used for the Android smartphone system.
The US Supreme Court has now ruled in the last resort that Google has not committed any copyright infringement.
Oracle founder Larry Ellison often proclaims that the US company will hunt down SAP customers.
For the German rival, it is also about boosting its database technology HANA.
There was initially no comment from SAP or Oracle.
