Tessin / Anklam / Grimmen (dpa / mv) - Several rear-end collisions with a total of five injuries occurred on Monday evening on Autobahn 20 due to slippery roads.

A 31-year-old driver in Ticino got into a skid when braking in front of a traffic jam, as the police said.

He hit the guardrail and crashed into a vehicle standing on the hard shoulder.

As a result, a car rolled over several times and came to a halt in the ditch.

The man and his passenger were seriously injured and were taken to nearby hospitals.

Almost at the same time on the A20 at the exit in the direction of Anklam, a motorist also raced into the guardrail at excessive speed.

According to the police, another driver then drove into the unsecured accident site.

A total of three people were injured.

There were also further accidents on the A20 due to the snow-smooth roads near Grimmen.

Nobody was injured here.
