Neumünster (dpa) - As a precaution, the retail chain Edeka is calling back grilled sausages in northern Germany.

It cannot be ruled out that there may be metallic foreign bodies in individual sausages with the expiry date April 22, 2021, announced Edeka Nord on Tuesday evening in Neumünster (Schleswig-Holstein).

It concerns the article Gut & Favorably Rostbratwurst in the 540 gram packaging with the lot number 210323 and the veterinary control number DE MV 11001 EG on the back.

It is advised against consumption as a preventive measure, it said.

The goods were offered in Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg as well as in the north of Lower Saxony and in parts of Brandenburg mainly at Edeka and Marktkauf.

The trading companies concerned immediately withdrew the goods from the sale.

Customers who would have bought the product could return it and have the purchase price refunded, even if they did not have a receipt.
