The Minister of the Interior, invited Tuesday to the morning of Europe 1, again condemned the financing by the EELV city hall of Strasbourg of a mosque project carried by the association Millî Görüs.

"We can dissolve or suspend these associations. The objective is that the enemies of the Republic can no longer continue to live in France," said Gérald Darmanin at the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk.

He also indicated that the association was excluded from the Territorial Assizes of Islam.

Monday March 22, the Municipal Council of Strasbourg, in Alsace, adopted "the principle of a subsidy" of more than 2.5 million euros for the construction of a mosque of Millî Görüs, a reputed association close to Turkey .

The Minister of the Interior was strongly opposed to this financing on his Twitter account.

The main reason ?

Millî Görüs, the association in question did not wish to sign the charter of values ​​of the Republic concocted by the government for Muslim institutions.

In fact, in 2019 and 2020, a school construction authorization and grant agreements were signed by the State.

And Gérald Darmanin does not refute them.

"Before, no one had asked them to sign the charter of the President of the Republic. Now, I can tell you that the instruction is: no funding no longer concerns this association," he assures us.
