Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - Around 11,000 Hessian schoolchildren have been attending special courses since this week in order to catch up on the subjects that were previously missed in the corona pandemic.

The learning camps in the Easter holidays would be offered at 200 schools, announced the Ministry of Education in Wiesbaden.

They are one of many building blocks to “compensate for the subjects missed due to school closings,” said Minister of Education Alexander Lorz (CDU).

The offer is free of charge for the students and is organized by the schools themselves.

During the holidays, children and young people of all grades have the opportunity to review and deepen the subject matter in small groups.

School administrators could run the learning camps in both analogue and digital form, the ministry explained.
