Regarding the burden of medical expenses for the elderly aged 75 and over, the Constitutional Democratic Party said that the government's bill could lead to excessive refraining from seeing medical examinations. We have put together a counter-proposal that requires an additional burden.

As medical expenses are expected to increase further due to the aging of the population, the government will raise the burden of medical expenses for people aged 75 and over from 10% to 20% in principle for people with an annual income of 2 million yen or more. The bill has been submitted to the Diet and will be deliberated in the House of Representatives from the 8th.

The Constitutional Democratic Party has put together a counter-proposal to the bill, saying it could lead to excessive refraining from seeing the doctor as the effects of the new coronavirus continue.

In the counter-proposal, the government will not raise the annual income of 2 million yen or more to 20%, but will maintain the current 10% of the counter burden for medical expenses for people aged 75 and over.

On top of that, as an alternative financial resource, we will raise the upper limit of annual insurance premiums only for high-income elderly people aged 75 and over so that the burden will not go to the working generation, and the shortfall will be It is supposed to be covered by public funds.

The Constitutional Democratic Party will submit this counter-proposal to the Diet on the 7th.
