Flensburg (dpa / lno) - After the violent death of a woman in Schuby (Schleswig-Flensburg district) last November, the Flensburg public prosecutor brought charges against the husband.
“The prosecution assumes that the accused stabbed his wife in the shared bedroom on November 11, 2020 several times with a knife in the area of the upper body, tied her up and raped her, accepting that his wife would be stabbed from the stab wounds bleeding to death, "it said in a statement published on Tuesday.
The charges brought against the 47-year-old in custody in February are murder and rape, as well as attempted arson.
In order to destroy the traces of the rape and killing of his 41-year-old wife, the man is said to have tried to set a fire on the upper floor of the house.
The couple broke up in early October last year.
The wife entered into a new relationship, in which the prosecutor sees the motive after the investigation.
The law provides life imprisonment for murder.
