London (AP) - The family of the British record fundraiser Captain Tom Moore, who died in February at the age of 100, called on him to follow his example before his birthday on April 30th.

Captain Tom, who most recently contracted Covid-19 himself, had collected the equivalent of almost 37 million euros in donations for the NHS health service, which was under pressure in the pandemic.

For this he had walked 100 laps through his backyard with his rollator.

He became a national hero almost overnight.

Queen Elizabeth II (94) knighted him last summer.

"We want people to let their imaginations run wild and invent their own actions with the number 100," said Captain Tom's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore of the BBC on Tuesday.

That could be for the benefit of the foundation her father set up or for some other good cause.

In a video posted on Captain Tom's Twitter account, several celebrities joined the call, including actress Judi Dench, who appeared as "M" in several James Bond films.

The WWII veteran would have turned 101 this year.

Nevertheless, the actions should revolve around the number 100, was Ingram-Moore.

"His 100th year was the best of his life," she said.
