Hamburg (AP) - The theater and film actress Grischa Huber is dead. She died Tuesday morning at the age of 76 after a long illness, as her daughter Muriel König told the German press agency.

Huber was the winner of the gold film tape for her performance in the film "Under the pavement is the beach" (1974).

Born on the Polish island of Wollin, she began her acting career at the Karlsruhe State Theater.

After further acting lessons in Munich, Huber made his debut at the Residenztheater there in 1967 in Jean Genet's “The Walls”.

This was followed by further theater engagements, for example in Cologne, Mannheim, Bochum, Berlin and Hamburg, where she gave the French actress in 1988 at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in the play "Lulu" directed by Peter Zadek.

The Schauspielhaus will be showing this production on April 17th in the WDR recording for 24 hours as a stream.

Actor Michael König's wife was also present in television and cinema - for the first time in 1970 in the feature film "Lenz" based on the story of the same name by Georg Büchner.

This was followed by roles in cinema films such as “Goethe” (director: Phillipp Stölzl), “Hilde” (Kai Wessel) or “September” (Max Färberböck).

On television she was seen in the series “SOKO Stuttgart” (ZDF), in “Three in a bed” (Sat1) and “Hurenkinder” (ARD).
