  On April 3, local time, the Central Executive Committee of the Democratic League of Myanmar issued a statement announcing the abolition of the 2008 constitution of Myanmar and will cooperate with various political forces in Myanmar to work hard for a better future in Myanmar.

  Earlier, the Representative Committee of the Union of Myanmar Parliament issued a notice on March 31 stating that Myanmar’s current 2008 constitution was abolished.

The China Democratic League expressed its agreement and support for this announcement in its statement.

  The Representative Committee of the Union of Myanmar Parliament was spontaneously established on February 5 by a number of Democratic Party members who won the 2020 Myanmar general election. They spontaneously appointed an interim vice president and a number of interim ministers.

  On March 21, the National Management Committee of Myanmar declared that the Representative Committee of the Federal Assembly was an illegal organization.

  The current Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was drafted in the National Assembly in 2004 and passed by referendum in 2008.
