Schwerin (dpa / mv) - From this Tuesday on, the compulsory corona test will be expanded in large parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

If you then want to go shopping, you need a negative corona test.

In the Hanseatic city of Rostock, according to the state government, this regulation will only come into force next Saturday because the corona infection numbers are lower there.

This also applies to body-hugging services such as hairdressers or cosmetic studios, for which a negative corona test has been necessary in the country since last Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Health, customers must have a corona test a maximum of 24 hours before the appointment - either in the pharmacy, in a rapid test center or with a purchased self-test on site.

It is then crucial that the self-test takes place in front of the eyes of the person performing the service.

According to the information, rapid tests are possible in around 200 test facilities across the country.

A negative corona test is still not necessary for shopping in grocery stores or drug stores nationwide.

In the past week, the state pharmacy association reported that there were too few rapid tests.

Accordingly, the need can not yet be met.

Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU) then said that the bottlenecks should end soon.

The state guild master of the hairdressing trade and beauticians in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Ines Tietböhl, told of some appointments being canceled because of the mandatory testing that has been introduced.

It is difficult to get tests, especially for customers in rural areas, and many are no longer mobile.

In addition to the effort, for some this is also a question of cost if five to seven euros were added to a self-test for a visit to the hairdresser.
