Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Hamburg Stealers have strengthened themselves for the upcoming Bundesliga baseball season with Alexander Guillermo Valdez.
The 27-year-old from the Dominican Republic is planned as a starting pitcher.
Valdez previously played for league competitor Solingen Alligators and also gained experience in the USA in the MLB organization of the Anaheim Angels.
"Last season we had some problems in pitching in the first game, which we should have now fixed with Alex Valdez," said head coach David Wohlgemuth.
The season is slated to begin on May 22nd with the game against Dortmund Wanderers.
