According to the Times, the Irish Data Protection Commission (IDPC) - the EU regulator - announced that it is studying the data on the leak.

“Apparently, this is due to the problem that was reported in 2019 related to the collection of personal data from Facebook,” the publication quotes the words of the representative of the commission, Graham Doyle.

At the same time, he noted that after new media reports, the regulator will study this issue in order to establish whether the mentioned data set is really the same that was published in 2019.

Earlier, the media reported that the personal data and phone numbers of 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries were freely available on the Internet.
