Electronic theft in Umeå was solved with the help of the public

The Västerbotten courier was the first to report on the incident.

It was on Saturday evening, April 3, that the police went out to a construction site on Ridvägen in Umeå - a stone's throw from the police station - due to a theft.

The Umeå entrepreneur who was exposed tells VK that he received tips that there were people in warning clothes inside the workplace during the evening.

Once on site, police held interrogations, documented the crime scene and then drew up a report of aggravated theft.

"I would like to extend a big thank you to the citizens"

But it would not be long before the police found a trail.

On Sunday morning, police had arrested the three suspects in a surrounding municipality to Umeå, and it could not have happened without help from the public.

- From the police authority, I would above all like to thank the citizens who made these observations that led to our success in the case, says Mats Bruhn, head of preliminary investigation at the police in Umeå.
