A Paris-Bordeaux TGV had to interrupt its journey this Sunday afternoon after hitting a person near Maillé in Indre-et-Loire.

According to

the New Republic,

the most probable hypothesis is that of suicide since the fence along the track was cut and an empty car was found near the tragedy.

The train, with 435 passengers on board, was stopped from 5.30 p.m. to 9.45 p.m.

An elderly person, victim of an illness, was evacuated to the hospital of Châtellerault.

This accident did not impact the rest of the traffic, says SNCF.

The travelers were able to be refueled at Poitiers station before reaching the Gironde during the night.
