An old man who came to get the Corona 19 vaccine from Mexico handed a note to a nurse to report abuse.
Authorities in Mexico City, the capital city, said on the 4th (local time) that they arrested two men and women, the daughters of an elderly woman, after being reported abused by an 85-year-old woman at an inoculation center located at a school in Eastapalapa.
According to Mexican Daily Reforma and Eluniversal, the old man who came to the vaccination center with his daughter and his wife at the time handed a note to the nurse who gave him the vaccine when his turn came.
On the note, there was a message saying that the daughter and the couple had locked themselves up for the first year and were not allowed to go outside the door, and asked to take it out.
The old man also claimed he was being humiliated in a disastrous environment, city officials said.
The nurse who received the note immediately delivered it to the police guarding the vaccination center, and the police arrested the 39-year-old daughter and 59-year-old son-in-law, who had been pointed out by the old man.
Authorities say they are investigating the abuse of the elderly by men and women while the elderly have been moved to a safe place.
In Mexico, reports of domestic violence are increasing as families spend longer together at home after Corona 19.
According to recent Mexican government statistics, the number of domestic violence in January and February this year increased 5.8% from the same period last year and 23% from 2019.
