Berlin (dpa / bb) - A Berlin geriatric nurse who is said to have killed an 83-year-old patient will have to answer before the regional court of the capital from Tuesday.

The charge is murder.

As an employee of a nursing home, the 53-year-old is said to have turned off the senior's ventilator in November 2019, thereby killing the 83-year-old.

The public prosecutor's office assumes the homicidal trait of treachery.

A motive of the geriatric nurse has not yet been able to be determined.

Eleven days of negotiations are scheduled for the process until May 18.
