Mellensee (dpa / bb) - After the gas explosion in a bungalow in Mellensee (Teltow-Fläming), an 81-year-old man died.
Three people were injured, some seriously, said the Teltow-Fläming police station on Easter Monday.
The accident happened Saturday night.
According to previous knowledge, a gas heater caught fire for unknown reasons.
Since the 79-year-old resident was seriously injured, his 77-year-old wife got help from the older neighbors.
The couple, aged 77 and 81, tried to put out the fire.
Then there was an explosion - presumably due to the gas heater operated with a gas cylinder and the bungalow completely caught fire.
The seniors were brought to a special clinic in Berlin with severe burn injuries.
The 81-year-old died there on Sunday.
The exact course of the accident and the cause of the fire are now being determined.
