China News Service, Paris, April 4th. French Foreign Minister Le Drian called on Iran to "play a constructive role" in the Iranian nuclear issue meeting on the 3rd local time.

  Le Drian had a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif on the 3rd to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue.

Le Drian issued a statement after the call, calling on Iran to "play a constructive role" in the discussion of the Iranian nuclear issue.

  Le Drian said that the purpose of the Iran nuclear issue meeting is to help determine in the next few weeks what steps will be taken in order to restore full compliance with the Iran nuclear agreement.

Zarif called on France to fulfill the relevant commitments of the Iran nuclear agreement.

  Representatives of the Iranian nuclear agreement will hold a meeting in Vienna, Austria next week. They will further clarify the measures to be taken on the lifting of sanctions against Iran and the continued implementation of the Iranian nuclear agreement.

  Zarif has previously stated that representatives of Iran and the United States will not meet at the meeting.

US State Department spokesperson Price has confirmed that the US will attend the meeting. He said that the US is open to direct dialogue with Iran.

  In July 2015, Iran reached an Iran nuclear agreement with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany. According to the agreement, Iran promised to restrict its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.
