Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Füchse Berlin have not been able to stop their downward trend in the handball Bundesliga.

On Sunday, the Berliners lost in front of empty ranks at Frisch Auf Göppingen after a thriller with 24:25 (12:12).

For the Foxes it was the seventh defeat in the past nine championship games.

The best throwers from Berlin were Valter Chrintz with six and Fabian Wiede with five goals.

The foxes again had to do without the Corona-infected duo Jacob Holm and Hans Lindberg as well as the injured Paul Drux and Milos Vujovic.

But goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev was there again, but initially only sat on the bench.

Berlin had held a three-day short training camp before the game, but the team started out very nervous and made a lot of inaccuracies, especially in attack.

After eight minutes the Füchse were 3: 6 behind.

After a good 19 minutes, Milosavljev came into the box and brought new security with a few parades.

The guests were now working very well defensively and were able to win more balls.

After a 4-0 run just before the break, they equalized at 12:12.

After the break, the Füchse took the lead for the first time.

But in the attack, the error rate was simply too high and the hosts took the lead back.

The Berliners continued to fight.

In the final second, Chrintz scored at 25:25 - the jubilation knew no bounds.

According to the referee's advice, the hit did not count.
