The most popular hobby among collectors is numismatics.
Coins and paper money from different countries and eras are collected by every fourth respondent (25%).
The second most popular are statuettes and figurines (11%).
Many Russians collect toys (9%), stamps, books, postcards and calendars (5% each), music records and dishes (3% each).
Magnets were also popular collectibles (2%).
24% of the respondents answered “Other”, meaning collecting plants, candles, lighters, stones, minerals, photographs, cameras, watches, antiques, jewelry, ashtrays, badges, tickets and weapons.
Overall, only 27% of respondents said they collect collections.
73% of the Russians surveyed do not do this.
The reasons they named were lack of interest in the process, unwillingness to store dust collectors and lack of space.
A total of 5 thousand people took part in the survey.
