It is known that a black man engaged in a'iron bar riot' at a Korean convenience store while hate crimes aimed at Asians in the United States are on the rise.



According to Sung Yeol-moon, chairman of the Korean American Association of Carolina, and local media outlets, a black man came into a convenience store in Charlotte, North Carolina, run by Mr. Sung, at around 3 p.m. .



The man knocked the cookie rack to the floor and smashed a metal stick to smash refrigerators, freezers, tables, and other items.



Convenience store CCTV also captured scenes of riots and surprised customers rushing out of the store.



It is said that the man was wielding a metal stick and swearing at Mr. and Mrs. Sung and saying, "XX Chinese, go back to your country."



The man was arrested on the spot by the police who were dispatched.



The man's identity has been confirmed as 24-year-old Harvier Rash Woody-Silas.



Police officers at Charlotte Mecklenburg have arrested Woody-Sillas for robbery, intimidation, and obstruction of official affairs with dangerous weapons, and are known to be considering the application of hate crime provisions.
