Berlin (AP) - Alba Berlin celebrated an important away win in the basketball Bundesliga.

The Berliners won on Easter Sunday in front of empty ranks at the Telekom Baskets Bonn with 80:75 (37:42).

With this they consolidated their second place in the table, four points behind leaders Ludwigsburg.

The best throwers from Berlin were Luke Sikma with 17 and Peyton Siva with 15 points.

Coach Aito Garcia Reneses had to do without the injured national player Maodo Lo again, and Simone Fontecchio, who had recently been tired, was given a break.

But the Berliners did not take place at first.

On the defensive there was no access, hardly anything worked up front.

Only after just under four minutes did Peyton Siva score the first points with a free throw.

But after that they were already 2:16 behind.

But Alba then fought back and took the lead for the first time at the beginning of the second quarter (23:22).

But it only lasted for a short time.

Too many distance throws missed their target in this phase while Bonn was able to score more easily.

So it went into the dressing room with a five-goal deficit.

After the break, the game was much more even and the lead changed back and forth.

Alba was increasingly fighting against fatigue, it was already the 15th game since March.

Bonn had only played seven games in the same period.

But in the final quarter they found the necessary energy again, left little defensively and were able to pull away decisively.
