Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - SV Waldhof Mannheim has taken an important step in the fight against relegation with its first win in the third soccer league for a good two months.
Thanks to the 1-0 (0-0) against FSV Zwickau, the Waldhöfer climbed to eleventh place in the table.
Joseph Boyamba scored the redeeming goal on Saturday in the 56th minute.
The Mannheimers were the better team until 20 minutes before the end and deservedly led, but were lucky in the final phase that the FSV's final offensive was not rewarded.
The gate frame saved the Waldhöfer twice.
The success was also important for coach Patrick Glöckner.
