The wild party attracted more than 300 people to the Saône quays in Lyon on March 30, despite the confinement and the health rules in force as part of the coronavirus epidemic.

On April 2, two brothers, aged 26 and 22, presented themselves at the police station of the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, declaring to be the organizers of this gathering.

Placed in custody, the two young men were referred this Saturday to the Lyon prosecutor's office.

They were summoned to the hearing of the Criminal Court of Lyon on April 27 to be tried on charges of endangering the lives of others and the organization of a prohibited rally on the public highway in a territorial district in a state of health emergency and having to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic, said the public prosecutor of Lyon, Nicolas Jacquet.

Placed under judicial supervision

Pending judgment, the defendants were placed under judicial supervision.

Under the offense of endangerment, both incur the penalty of one year of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros, continues the prosecutor.

The prosecution explains that the two brothers are the co-presidents of a cultural association called EX-TERRE, the object of which is to support music and culture.

They admitted to having broadcast on March 30 at the beginning of the afternoon, on the association's Instagram account, an invitation to "a sound aperitif on the quays of the Saône".

Around 3 p.m., they had installed musical speakers.

During their custody, they said they were surprised by the success of their invitation to which more than 300 people had attended, while acknowledging that their association's account was followed by 900

.

The EX-TERRE association, as a legal person, has also been the subject of criminal proceedings by the same heads.
