Despite restrictions and security measures, it is possible for people to continue to borrow books on the book bus that runs through the villages in Boden municipality.
In total, the colorful bus visits 35 villages.
- It is a highlight on the weekday evening that they come here, says Karin Sundström in the village Gemträsk.
"I like to read"
Her opinion is shared by the Andersson family who come in a group to the bus.
Nine-year-old Albin Andersson says that he loves reading books and proudly shows a book that is several hundred pages thick.
- I have this at home and I'm in chapter nine now, it's pretty much read.
Then I read the whole first book, he says.
More new visitors on the bus
Ulrika Blomqvist and Mats Westlund work in the book bus.
They say that more new visitors have found their way to the bus because many avoid visiting a regular library during the pandemic.
- There have been a few different adjustments.
We work behind plexiglass and in visors.
But in any case, we continue to visit all the villages as we usually do, says librarian Ulrika Blomqvist.
