China News Service, April 3, according to Hong Kong's "Wen Wei Po" report, on the 2nd, representatives of all parties to the Iranian nuclear agreement held a video conference and announced after the meeting that they would meet in the Austrian capital of Vienna next week. Both the United States and Iran have indicated that they will participate. In this meeting, the two sides will hold "indirect talks."

In the video conference on the 2nd, representatives of all parties emphasized to continue to abide by the Iran nuclear agreement, discussed to ensure the full and effective implementation of the agreement, and expressed their readiness to welcome the United States to return to the agreement.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Araghi pointed out that “the United States should return directly to the nuclear agreement as it withdrew from the agreement and illegally sanctioned Iran at that time.”

Iranian President Rouhani also stressed earlier that Iran is willing to fully abide by the nuclear agreement, provided that the United States also abides by it and lifts sanctions against Iran.

The signatory states of the Iran nuclear agreement plan to hold formal talks next week. US State Department spokesperson Price confirmed on the 2nd that the US will send representatives to attend, saying that the talks are only preliminary and do not expect an immediate breakthrough, but believe that the meeting is a good start.

Price also said that he had suggested to Iran that officials of the two sides would have direct talks, but the Iranian side refused.

EU officials said that in the talks next week, countries will seek to set the negotiation agenda on issues such as the lifting of US sanctions against Iran and Iran’s compliance with the agreement, and hope that a consensus can be reached within two months.

In July 2015, Iran reached an Iran nuclear agreement with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.

According to the agreement, Iran promised to limit its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.

In May 2018, the US government unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, and subsequently restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.

Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of certain provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible."
