Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's state government wants to decide today in coordination with the central municipal associations which cities are allowed to open shops, street cafes and cultural institutions after Easter.

Around 25 municipalities are selected as part of so-called model projects - 65 locations had applied, as a spokesman for the Ministry of Health said.

The prerequisite for participation is that the municipality has a corona incidence of less than 200.

Negative corona tests and digital contact tracking with the Luca app are intended to create “safe zones” in which public life should be possible.

In Tübingen, Baden-Württemberg, the incidence had increased significantly as part of a similar model project.
