Leipzig (AP) - FC Bayern's hope for a comeback of the injured world footballer Robert Lewandowski, possibly even for the quarter-final second leg in the Champions League, is low.

It is important not to do anything too early with such a player, said Bayern coach Hansi Flick on Saturday evening after the Bundesliga top game at RB Leipzig (1-0).

"We have absolute experts who are at work there."

Only when everyone "gives the green light" will the Pole be reinstated.

Bayern will play their first leg against French champions Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday (9 p.m. / Sky), the second leg in Paris is on April 13th.

Lewandowski (32) suffered a ligament stretch in his right knee in the international match for Poland just under a week ago, and according to initial information from the club, he will be out for around four weeks.

It is being considered, said Flick on Saturday evening, that the star striker will now “do nothing for a week”.

Afterwards, he will «start training again in rehab», hopes Flick.

"We look day after day and hope that he will be back quickly."
