More Arab countries impose restrictions to confront the rapid spread of the Coronavirus, while Europe and regions of Asia are witnessing an acceleration of the epidemic, and global infections have exceeded 130 million.

In Syria, the Ministry of Education of the Syrian regime announced today, Saturday, the suspension of most basic education and kindergarten classes, starting from next Monday, due to a significant increase in infections with the Coronavirus.

And the Damascus authorities imposed other measures, including closing universities for a period of two weeks.

And last March, the Syrian regime's media reported that hospitals in Damascus were no longer able to accommodate more people with Corona.

Official figures indicate that the total number of injuries in Syria amounted to 19,000, while deaths approached 1,300 deaths, but it is believed that the real numbers are much higher.

Today, the Syrian News Agency quoted the Prime Minister of the regime, Hassan Arnous, as saying that a vaccine against the Corona virus will arrive in Syria from China, Russia and the World Health Organization within days.

Shutdown and emergency

In turn, Lebanon will witness a general closure until dawn next Tuesday to limit the spread of the Corona pandemic, especially during the Easter holiday period.

The closure includes all sectors with some exceptions for retail stores, in addition to the curfew, and the ban on gathering in social and religious events.

This step comes after the Supreme Defense Council decided to close during festive periods, to avoid a high infection with the Coronavirus.

For his part, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a decree today to extend the state of emergency in force for a year for a period of 30 days to counter the outbreak of the virus.

Concurrently, the Palestinian government announced the easing of the measures in place to confront the pandemic, as it was decided to regularize school hours for all stages from tomorrow, Sunday, after it was suspended since late February.

However, the government maintained the night closure in all governorates, completely banning movement on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as continuing to prevent gatherings of all kinds.

In Tunisia - in which officials warn of a possible third wave of the Corona virus in light of the return of infections and deaths to the rise again - the authorities imposed a partial closure within some governorates, especially where the British strain of the virus has spread.

In Jordan - which today recorded more than 4 thousand new cases of the virus and 91 deaths - the authorities continue to impose restrictions to contain the spread of the pandemic.

Globally, today the death toll from Coronavirus around the world has risen to 130 million and 10 thousand, and deaths to two million and 853 thousand, while the number of people recovering has increased to 105 million and 456 thousand, according to the latest figures published by the "World Meter" website.

Today, Turkey recorded more than 44,000 new cases of the virus, the highest toll since the outbreak of the pandemic in it.

The numbers are escalating around the world, with large numbers of injuries and deaths recorded in several regions, especially Europe, where countries - including France - are facing a third wave of the epidemic, which made hospitals narrow with patients.

For the second day, Italy recorded more than 21,000 injuries, in addition to 376 deaths.

In turn, Germany today counted more than 18 thousand injuries and 120 deaths, and the authorities had recently announced additional restrictions to combat the outbreak of the virus.

On the other hand, Britain recorded 3,423 cases of Coronavirus, the lowest toll since last September.

And in the east of the European continent, Ukraine today recorded a record number of injuries exceeding 20 thousand and about 400 deaths.

As for Russia - which today recorded more than 9 thousand injuries and 348 deaths - the Russian statistics agency "Rosstat" revealed that the number of deaths in the country reached 225 thousand, while the official toll indicates that only 100,000 people have died since the outbreak of the pandemic a year ago. .

Today, the number of Britons who received a first dose of anti-corona vaccines has increased to more than 31.4 million, an increase of 124,000 over the previous day.

In Asia, India today recorded 89,000 new HIV infections, the highest toll since last September, while 714 new deaths were counted, the highest level of deaths in 5 months.
