Iserlohn (dpa / lnw) - A car driver in Iserlohn (Märkischer Kreis) allegedly purposefully drove into a group of people who were at a playground.

According to previous investigations, a person was thrown from the car into the air, several other people jumped to the side, said the Hagen public prosecutor, the Hagen police headquarters and the Märkischer Kreis district police authority on Saturday.

After the alleged attempted homicide on Thursday evening, the unknown driver is still wanted.

A homicide squad is investigating.

He is said to have slowly approached a group of around 30 people at first.

Then he accelerated the car and drove - possibly deliberately - towards about five people.

Then the car turned and drove away.

According to witnesses, the group then left the playground in different directions.

When the police arrived, there was a slightly injured 19-year-old on site.

He was treated in the hospital.

It was said, however, that it was still unclear whether he was hit.

The young man did not comment on this.
