Conference The daughter of Almudena Grandes and Luis García Montero, a "comrade" of the Falange
The Falange has included as number four of its candidacy for the Madrid elections on May 4, Elisa García Grandes, daughter of the writer Almudena Grandes and the also writer and currently
director of the Cervantes Institute, Luis García Montero
.
According to the official candidacies for the 4-M consulted by Servimedia, the daughter of Grandes and Montero will be in the starting positions together with the leaders of the Falange, including its current head, Manuel Andrino Lobo, who will go as number one.
The name of Elisa García Grandes came to the fore last December, when her link with the Falange was published in the press and was widely commented on on social networks, where the striking of her political affinity was commented on due to
the left-wing ideas of her parents
.
It was also known then that the daughter of Grandes and García Montero gave a talk for Falangists on December 4 entitled 'Nacionalsindicalismo: why in Spain?'
In the video of the conference, which can be seen on YouTube, its 23-year-old author was presented as an expert in medieval philosophy and a member of the Spanish University Union (SEU), linked to the
party founded by José Antonio primo de Rivera.
AMONG THE LEADERS
The publicity received at that time has resulted in Elisa García Grandes appearing as number four in the Falangist candidacy for 4-M, in which he will go after Manuel Andrino Lobo, Norberto Pedro Pico Sanabria and José Ramón Franco Abad.
Regarding the electoral prospects of this party for the Madrid elections, in the previous appointment with the polls, the one held on May 26, 2019, the
Falange added 2,585 votes, 0.08% of the total votes cast
.
As a reference, in these elections the PSOE, which was the most voted, won 884,218 votes, 27.31%, while the PP won 719,852 votes, 22.23%.
Before her name reached public relevance last December, Grandes and Montero's daughter had another appearance in society in 2016, when she starred in a Madrid City Council campaign as a
young man who had stopped using drugs
thanks to the Cauces Association and the Institute of Addictions of the capital.
