Suez Canal Authority: We are close to completing the crossing of all late ships

The Suez Canal Authority said today, Friday, that it is close to completing the transit of all late vessels that were disrupted when a giant container ship blocked the shipping course.

The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie, told a local TV channel that 61 ships are still waiting to cross, down from 422 ships that were jammed waiting for the return of navigation at the time of the floatation of the container ship Evergiven on Monday.

The Suez Canal Authority said in a statement that about 80 ships crossed the shipping channel today, Friday, in both directions, including an American aircraft carrier, a liquefied natural gas tanker and an oil tanker.
