From "closed door" to popular "girl doll secretary"
Huang Wenxiu is one of the more than 3 million cadres stationed in villages across the country to help cadres.
Huang Wenxiu was born in the old revolutionary base of Baise, Guangxi. This girl who was admitted as a postgraduate student at Beijing Normal University was enviously called "the flying golden phoenix" by the neighbors and villagers.
However, the "Golden Phoenix" that had flown out insisted on flying back into the mountains.
Huang Wenxiu took the initiative to give up job opportunities in big cities, was admitted to Guangxi, and returned to Baise to support the construction of his hometown.
"Many people go out from the countryside and don't want to go back again, but there is always someone to come back. I am the one who wants to return."
In March 2018, Huang Wenxiu took the initiative to ask Ying to help the poor in deeply impoverished areas and was sent to Baini Village, Xinhua Town, Leye County as the first secretary in the village.
Baini Village is located deep in the mountains. The village situation is complex and difficult. It is a deeply impoverished village at the autonomous region level. There are 460 households with 2,068 people in the village. The poverty incidence rate was as high as 22.88% at the end of 2017.
Huang Wenxiu wrote in his diary: "I have communicated with the comrades who have served as the first secretary before, and they all said that the pressure is very high. Whether I can stick to it, I am also very puzzled..."
How can we not be nervous?
At that time, she was only 28 years old, and she had just walked out of the ivory tower. She had only one and a half years of work experience and was a student.
However, to lead more elders and villagers out of poverty and towards a well-off society, this was her original intention when she came back!
She thought, without experience, just learn in practice; even if there are difficulties, they can definitely be overcome...
With the momentum of a newborn calf, Huang Wenxiu "broke" into Baini Village.
The first secretary who took office happily soon became "closed door".
Zhou Changzhan, party branch secretary of Baini Village, recalled that when he saw Huang Wenxiu, his first reaction was "somewhat disappointed."
"What can such a young female doll who can't lift her hands or shoulders do?"
The villagers have the same concerns.
When Huang Wenxiu visited, she refused to even open the door to her.
Huang Wenxiu was aggrieved because of the unfavorable attendance.
In order to get acquainted with the villagers, she launched a new tactic: Zang.
She took the initiative to help poor households clean their yards, went to the fields to help villagers do farm work, and over and over again went to the villagers' homes who did not want to open the door to "close"...
The villagers spoke Guiliu dialect, so Huang Wenxiu made up his mind to practice dialect hard.
Five months later, she proudly wrote in her diary: "I can communicate with impoverished households in Guiliu dialect."
Huang Wenxiu lives in the village. In order to make it easier to go to the village, she paid a "blood fund", took a driver's license, and bought a car with a loan.
She boldly walked the mountain road, visited the poor households that had been filed and registered, and hand-painted the "people's situation map" of the poor households in Baini Village, marking the name and location of each household.
Soon after she was stationed in the village, this high-spirited girl visited all the poor households, and Huang Wenxiu was familiar with the road no matter how bad it was.
Over time, the villagers finally slowly accepted the new first secretary in the village.

Huang Wenxiu can't hide the nature of young people.
She changed the name of the poverty alleviation work group to "Baini Village Rural Revitalization Super Team". Zhou Changzhan read these words and felt that the female doll secretary was really childish.
Like all girls, Huang Wenxiu also loves beauty.
Her graduate student Wang Juan wrote when recalling her: "What a beautiful girl you are! At that time, you always thought you were fat and clamored to lose weight. Once you wrapped plastic wrap around your legs and exercised. I still remember the way we laughed at you when you straddled your legs on the stool and wrapped them in plastic wrap."
Huang Wenxiu, who loves beautifully so much, has changed since he stayed in the village.
The villagers said that she had turned black and became more like her own family in the village. She took off her high-heeled dress, put on sportswear, and went up and down to the fields. She had a strong local flavor on her body.
However, the consciousness of beauty is still deeply buried in Huang Wenxiu's heart.
In the diary, she didn't forget to write a sentence "colleagues said I was fat as soon as they met" to warn herself.
The young Huang Wenxiu is very emotional.
Zhang Boyu, also the first secretary of the village in Baise City, remembers that Huang Wenxiu encountered a relatively big difficulty in his work. She cried and asked him for advice. He cried and asked while he was crying, and he wrote them down carefully in his notebook.
"But she is very strong and can survive any difficulty." Zhang Baiyu said, she would cry, but she never gave up.

"Timid and brave", colleague Yang Zhenli used two contradictory words to describe Huang Wenxiu.
She said she was "coward" because there was a funeral in the village, and she would not fall asleep because of a bit of wind and grass; she was "brave" because she collapsed in the rain late at night, she rushed out to check and put a warning sign.
At that time, the state-owned Yachang Forest Farm of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region came to Xinhua Town to advocate 4 small industries including beekeeping.
Hearing of this incident, Huang Wenxiu approached Chen Mingchi, the first secretary of Leweng Village, Xinhua Town, and said that she wanted to introduce the beekeeping industry.
Chen Mingchi invited her to watch the process of collecting honey. Huang Wenxiu not only wanted to watch, but also had a try in person.
"When we arrived at the apiary, there was a swarm of bees. At first she didn't dare to do it, but later she mustered up the courage to put on a protective cover to catch the bees and find the queen bee." Chen Mingchi said.
"She took everyone to build roads, build reservoirs, and install street lighting equipment. In the eyes of the villagers, Secretary Wenxiu went wherever he was in difficulty and never complained." Yang Zhenli said.
After staying in the village for a year, Huang Wenxiu’s efforts have yielded fruitful results: Baini Village completed the hardening of 1.5 kilometers of roads in the village, built 4 reservoirs, installed 17 street lights, and the collective economy increased by more than 60,000 yuan, with 88 households. 418 people have been lifted out of poverty, and the incidence of poverty has dropped from 22.88% to 2.71%.
She still has many ideas for the poverty alleviation business she loves
Huang Wenxiu used the most "earthly" method to visit from house to house and found the development path of Baini Village: industry.
Together with the cadres of the "two committees" of the village, she led the masses to develop sugar tangerine, star anise, fir and other industries in accordance with local conditions.
Although the method is "earth", Huang Wenxiu's idea is very "new".
She first contacted a company in Baise for the village to teach technology and help the villagers build a standardized orchard; she also actively explored online sales channels, contacted teachers, classmates, and colleagues, and invited fruit merchants from other places to come to the village to harvest fruit.
She also set out to establish an e-commerce service station to use the Internet to sell Baini Village products.
Ban Tongmao, the rich leader who planted sugar tangerines, remembers that one night, Huang Wenxiu discussed the planting plan with everyone.
"She talked endlessly about her planning, what standardized management, what scientific planting, and what to make Baini Village's sugar tangerines a well-known brand in the country..."
Huang Wenxiu wants to do more.
She wrote in her diary: "My overall goal is not only to complete poverty alleviation tasks and improve infrastructure, but also hope that Baini Village's rural customs and spiritual civilization will be built to a higher level."
Huang Wenxiu has always wanted to open a kindergarten in the village.
She found a teacher and asked about opening a kindergarten. She also contacted alumni to conduct research for the construction of a kindergarten in Baini Village. She also invited the "Farmers' Sons" association of Beijing Normal University to teach in Baini Village.
She also made a request "with an inch and an inch", hoping that the club will bring more juniors and sisters who can play musical instruments during the summer vacation. Because there are municipal-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors in Baini Village, she wants to organize a literary and artistic evening party to let the culture gain. Better inheritance...
"I have many ideas." Huang Wenxiu wrote in her diary, "I want to design a village song for Baini Village, using the tune of "Chengdu"..."
She carefully noted the request of the children in the village: "Today Saturday, many children asked me if I still don't carry out voluntary activities. I have a lot of work in the near future, and I will start after I arrange it."

She would send a WeChat message to her friends because she "suddenly wanted to eat Haidilao". She said that she also wanted to get married and have a child, so that parents could enjoy the family happiness...

But all this came to an abrupt end in a heavy rain.
No natural superpowers, just ordinary people with flesh and blood
Like Huang Wenxiu, there are many poor cadres who have many ideas but are suddenly interrupted by fate.

In Baini Village, where Huang Wenxiu fought, today, in Baibutun, where the old village is located, new houses are neatly distributed, clinics, small supermarkets, e-commerce poverty alleviation outlets, and fitness venues are all available. The oil workshop has been built.
The muddy bumpy gravel road once written by Huang Wenxiu in his diary has now become a flat concrete road.
The highways and secondary roads benefiting Baini Village have also been completed. The newly-built village-level kindergarten is expected to welcome the first batch of children entering the kindergarten in September this year.
Yang Jiexing, the current first secretary of Baini Village, ran along Huang Wenxiu's "poverty alleviation industry road", running projects, looking for funds, and hiring experts, and doing everything possible to broaden the way for the people to get rich.
The sugar tangerine industry in Baini Village has continued to grow and develop. This industry has benefited 888 people from 195 households from poverty-stricken households, achieving a 100% industrial coverage of poverty-stricken households.
Across the country, at the expense of the unfinished business of poverty alleviation cadres, some people are walking for them.
