Up to now, the public security organs have solved 87 criminal cases involving sand, arrested more than 280 criminal suspects, and eliminated 27 criminal gangs, involving more than 30 million yuan (RMB).

  On April 1, the Ministry of Public Security held a promotion meeting for public security organs to service and ensure the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Wuhan, Hubei.

The meeting emphasized that it is necessary to adhere to zero-tolerance strikes, highlight source governance, deepen all-round propaganda, deepen the protracted war against the "Yangtze River Fishing Ban", and strictly prevent the rebound in illegal fishing activities.

It is necessary to deepen the special campaign to combat illegal sand mining crimes, further increase efforts to combat deterrence, inspections, prevention and control, and joint rectification, keep a close eye on the links of "collecting, transportation, and marketing", dig deep into the chain of criminal organizations, and strictly investigate and punish the "actions" in accordance with the law. Underlying forces such as tyrants and tyrants and behind-the-scenes “protective umbrellas” have strengthened the “rolling” three-dimensional investigation of key river sections, key time periods, and sections of the river to effectively implement source prevention and comprehensive treatment measures.

  At the meeting, the Ministry of Public Security organized the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to sign regional police cooperation agreements with the Yangtze River Shipping Public Security Bureau and the Anti-smuggling Bureau of the General Administration of Customs to further strengthen regional police information sharing and resource optimization, and enhance the integration of public security agencies along the river. Combat capabilities, and strive to escort services to ensure the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

  Since June last year, the public security organs along the Yangtze River have closely followed the illegal fishing "catching, transportation and marketing" underground industrial chain, and successively carried out two rounds of concentrated combat operations, "fishing-related" 100-day visits, 100-day tackling operations, and multiple rounds of simultaneous inspection and enforcement operations. Significant results have been achieved in stages, effectively curbing the trend of high incidence of illegal fishing crimes in the Yangtze River Basin. By the end of the year, the number of criminal cases of illegal fishing fell by 85%.
