  • The mother of Jérôme Gaillard, who admitted to having killed his wife Magali Blandin, is indicted with her husband for complicity in murder by spouse.

  • His request for release was refused this Friday before the investigating chamber of the Rennes Court of Appeal.

  • A Georgian also suspected in this case also remains in detention.

Placed in pre-trial detention since March 20 in the Magali Blandin case, the victim's mother-in-law requested his release.

But the judges did not hear it that way and refused this request, we learned this Friday morning in front of the investigating chamber of the Rennes court of appeal.

With her husband, Jérôme Gaillard's mother was indicted for "complicity in murder by spouse" and "attempted death by spouse".

During the hearing held on Thursday, the lawyer for this 72-year-old woman played down the role played by her client, refuting the existence of a family plot to eliminate Magali Blandin.

According to

Ouest-France

, the parents of Jérôme Gaillard would still have been aware of the disastrous project of their son who initially wanted to have his companion killed by Georgians.

But Jérôme Gaillard's parents did not denounce him, which the law allows through family immunity.

They even allegedly provided him with alibis.

On the day of Magali Blandin's murder on February 11 in Montfort-sur-Meu near Rennes, Jérôme Gaillard's father allegedly made phone calls and sent emails from his son's home in Montauban-de-Bretagne to make believe in his presence.

The request for the release of a Georgian also refused

The lawyer for Magali Blandin's mother-in-law also explained that the parents had paid a sum of 50,000 euros to their son, but that the money was to be used to finance his divorce costs and not a criminal project.

In this case, a Georgian indicted for "attempted extortion in an organized gang for legal recidivism" and "destruction of evidence of a crime to prevent the manifestation of the truth" also requested his release.

It was also refused by the judges.

According to

Ouest-France

, the individual had on his phone an extortion letter written by a Georgian friend in order to blackmail Jérôme Gaillard.

He is also accused of having boned the car used to transport the lifeless body of the mother of four children.
