Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburger SV can in all probability rely on Stephan Ambrosius in the north duel of the 2nd Bundesliga at Hannover 96.

The 22-year-old U21 international, who had to stop training on Thursday due to a blockage in the lumbar spine area and then had himself examined, was back on the training ground on Good Friday.

"The blockade has been resolved, but we will decide at short notice whether he will be in the starting line-up," said coach Daniel Thioune with a view to the game on Easter Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky).

Since almost the entire squad is fit, he does not risk "an operation with any ailing player".

Thioune is spoiled for choice, because the only sure thing is the failure of defense chief Toni Leistner, who is not yet ready for a comeback after a muscle torn in his thigh.

Thioune also left open whether the top scorer in the league Simon Terodde (20 goals this season) will immediately start again after his Corona quarantine.

"Simon is set for us, but that only applies to the squad at the moment," emphasized the 46-year-old coach.

"We mustn't overload him after his illness."

After all, his team convinced in the only game of the season without Terodde against Heidenheim (2-0).
